France!

Hi Guys

In France now and it is beautiful! Sunny but very, very cold! The cottage was fine despite being locked up and empty for 8 weeks, we lit a fire but with so many heaters on we tripped the main switch, drank a dram or two of scotch and soon felt toasty warm.

As you have probably worked out no tests on my neck took place before the holidays, in fact still haven’t even got a date so they can’t be too worried. Tell me it is a lack of worry and not a lack of resources. Actually it doesn’t feel as painful or ‘lumpy’ as it did which is good news.

We had a good Christmas starting with a great Candle Light Carol Service on Christmas Eve ; Teresa and I led the Christmas Day service which was as mad as ever; you’ll be pleased to know that this year we didn’t lose Jesus! (See entry for last Christmas). Mum and Dad stayed for the whole holiday with James F and Amy joining us on Christmas Day after their service at MKCC (Milton Keynes Christian Centre). I had man flu and didn’t see past 7.30 of any evening.
We decided at the last minute to throw a trip to Disney into the equation so we are off to Disneyland on Jan 1st for 3 days; it is Carys’ birthday on the 3rd and we are always travelling back from France. This year she’ll get a real celebration! We’ll be stopping right in the centre of the park in a posh hotel – brill!

Woe the decline of the pound, we tend to use our credit cards out here but I converted £50 on the ferry and didn’t even get 50 euro! Eek! It feels a bit expensive out here these days.
OK guys assuming I don’t have a mini scan on my neck before the full body scan on the 13th this is the next date in the diary. To be free of any sign of anything ‘nasty’ at this stage would be a miracle so I’m praying for one (again). We are both looking forward to a great 2009. Going to join the gym again, finally decided that I will do my MPhil after all, going to wring as much out of life as I can. Word of advice to all friends – LIVE FOR THE MOMENT – God only knows what the future holds. If you fancy doing something, do it (assuming it’s legal, healthy and won’t upset God). Mind you if you take the illegal, unhealthy and God upsetting things out of the equation you are not left with too much are you. Discretion and moderation then and don’t scare the horses!!!

Off to Quimper for some French sale clobber this afto. If you are trying to ring the cottage sorry but the phone is on the blink, mobiles are OK though.

God Bless everyone – keep enjoying your Christmas holidays.

Dave
