- I was only given 9-12 months (on average) to live last January and here I am in month 15.
- I have had a number of scans since where they could find nothing - Praise God!
- I am feeling quite well, no pain, can still swallow and the miseries are lifting.
- I am generally fit so in a good place to fight.
- We are doing OK so don't have to worry about finances, jobs etc. (like so many do - bless em).
- I have the support of a fantastic wife, great family and wonderful church at WNL.
- The worse that can happen for a Christian is complete victory. Seriously death holds NO fear whatsoever. By the way I have no intention of croaking it just yet but of course I've thought about it. We sing a song at Church which goes like this... There's a place where the streets shine with the glory of the lamb, there's a way we can go there we can live beyond time... no more pain, so more suffering, no more sadness, no more tears, no more sin, no more sickness, no injustice no more death, because of YOU (meaning Jesus of course!).
So, as the song goes 'always look on the bright side of life' - off for a full Ulster Fry Up (breakfast) and certainly a pint or two of Guinness.
What out Derry; here we come!!
Luv
Dave

Not one to be picky about your spolling or anything....but did you mean watCH out Derry.....?
Probably already had a couple of "Black Velvets" when you wrote this eh??
Just as a matter of wotnot, I have so far had to correct three spolling mistokes of me own in this message!!!!!
Make that four...........
The good thing about Welsh is, nobody knows if you have spelt it right or not.
Anyway, if Ken is threatening to sing Irish songs... I have many Welsh ones...so, if you have had the misfortune to stand anywhere near me at Refresh, you will know that I was not born in wales, but Sheffield, as my singing is, well different, as in a different key to everyone else. So, be good, cos Ken and me together could make a racket!!!
If you were wondering what pressie to get Carys from Ireland, I think she might like a PONY!
LOL, and prayers,
Sianaroonie
I love the piccie of you both - you are certainly meant for each other, the happiness just beams through - you look like a couple of kids about to go on a special treat. It made me smile to see you, how splendid that you have each other and have such love between you.
Perhaps you would be willing to ask God to look after my cousin (David) who is in intensive care and hanging onto life by a thread. He is only 47, married with a 17 year old son, and has been in hospital since January with pancreatic failure. It has been a long struggle for him as he had numerous complications and been in such pain, although not now as he is heavily sedated. It strikes me that you will relate to his situation as you have been there too. We so want him to recover so all prayers will be gratefully received by his family, thank you.
Have a great time in Ireland, walk with a bit of a leprachaun swagger along with a lilt in the voice after supping a couple of G's x x
Well as ever you always manage to be optimistic and cheerful - the beautiful Irish countryside must also have helped! Hoping Jackie, that your cousin David soon recovers - he is in my thoughts.
I think Carys enjoyed being here for the party/sleepover - she was a bit croaky (but that could be because of the volume at times! - I needed to have some Paracetamol for my head - warning for anyone else wanting to have a party with 5 x 8 year olds and a 3 year old!!). She may also be a bit tired as they didn't go to sleep until midnight (which was when Jessica then woke up and cried off and on until 2am..) and then they were up by 7am!! So I am planning for an early night tonite.
Take care and see you soon,
Jane x
I am so pleased to see the 2 blogs containing those rude and misplaced comments have been removed. How sad some people are!
Thanks to everyone who took time out to think about and pray for my cousin; sadly he gave up his fight and died yesterday afternoon. It is still very hard to believe that 3 months ago he was healthy and happy and now he is gone.
So let's hold precious every day we have and can share with the people we love. Remaining positive and optimistic is our only course of action and my heart is full of compassion for the fragility of life.
How splendid to watch and enjoy the innocence and exuberance of young ones - they are our future and fill me with hope x
