CT Scan Results - Good

Hi All

Just got back from the hospital after the CT scan and results. Good news is that nothing has spread; it's still cancer and remains (and always will be) inoperable but none of the little areas of malignancy they found elsewhere in last year's tests have grown. Treatment will start again in two weeks, more chemo and radiotherapy to keep it in my oesophagus. It can't get better than this at this stage really so, all in all a good day!

I may be going for tracheal radiotherapy where the isotopes are delivered down the throat rather than from the outside. My oncologist is waiting to see some of the latest stats regarding this. He is concerned that I could end up a stricture (closure of the gullet). This would probably be in Southampton or Birmingham as it is not offered locally yet.

So off to enjoy the next couple of weeks before treatment starts again!

Thanks for checking in.

Dave

Well that is good news - more room for positive thinking and improvement! We can certainly make these little b****s go away!

It sounds as if you had a great time in Dubai, the sand dune trip sounded really brill, can't imagine you wearing an arab headress - Sir David of 'Arabia' - how romantic. Congrats on your 23rd anniversay - I'm sure it can't be that long as you both look so young. Any more thoughts on buying that pony? So cute and they usually come fully house trained!

My springer spaniel 'Scooby' is certainly a handful - funny how the reality is different to the dream (hair & mud not considered) but he is gorgeous and Don now has a run for his money!!

Keep the Redfern flag flying high! x

Good News, Dovid.
If this is as good as it gets, then that ain't bad.
Still praying for "no trace", but for now "no spread" will do.
The treatment sounds a bit scary, but you are a brave lad, and you know we are alongside you in all of it, and God has you in His perfect grasp.
Gonna have a "whip round" here in Lid, for a posh, luxurient "fit for a tart" wig, as you seem to keep parting with your barnet, and now that summer is on it's way (OH! YES IT IS), you will need to protect your lovely head. If we raise enough funds, we might get you a selection of colours. You know, a wig for each mood, or a wig for each outfit....maybe purple for the weekends.......... How about a really posh one made out of horse hair? Talking of horses, or maybe PONIES........
Well, Dove and Flo, praise God for His faithfulness, and rest in Him in the coming weeks. No need to say enjoy yourself, 'cos I know you will, anyway, in fact you have probably got enough time to sneak in another holiday, as you have not had one now for oooh let me see 48 hours!!!!!
Love you loads, glad you are all O.K, and we will all be praying as usual, and keeping you close to our hearts.
LOL,
Sianaroonie x
