5 Weeks In & OK!

Hi Guys

Well I got the diagnosis 5 weeks ago today and I feel better than I have in months. I'm eating normally. No longer tired, no discomfort or pain. Now I know that after France I've got the dreaded chemo again but it (and prayer) is working so I'll settle for 1 crappy week out of three.

We had a brill night out with our friends Dawn & Richard last night - great meal, loads of laughs - some wine! Tonight (Friday) is the first night I've had in since Monday and I went to bed at 7.00 then. Must try and stay awake for Teresa's sake - it is Friday after all!

James is off to Aspen and we're off to France tomorrow so no post tomorrow but I'll report in from Brittany on Sunday night.

See ya Dave xxxx

enjoy France, so glad that you're feeling strong. Read this at the ash wednesday service and thought of you:
When evening falls and you light the lamps, you say to the dark "I beg to differ"....

The gate of the year...
I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year, 'give me a light that i may tread safely into the unknown'
and he replied ' go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way'.
So, i went forth, and finding the hand of God, trod gladly into the night and he led me toward the hills and the breaking of day in the lone east. Minnie louse Haskins.

YOU, cheeky, Never!
Funny thing is, as I was writing about the shetlands, Carys came to mind. We would be delighted for her to come and meet them any time.
Neil agrees with the man flu being worse than childbirth. He says childbirth is not all it is cracked up to be, in fact HE has had three children, and never felt a thing.....
Anyway, hope you have packed plenty of hankies, and a balm stick for your sore nose, and Anadin for the headache, and heat rub for the aching shoulders, and Vick to rub on your chest ( who is Vick anyway?)and Optrex for your runny eyes, and Strepsils for the sore throat, and whiskey for the hot toddy............you may have to leave clean knickers at home, as there will not be room in the suitcase, after you have packed all the "essentials" !!!!!

Have a great time together, make a date on your return.
Bon Voyage,
Praying like stink.

To John & Amanda

Thanks mate!

Isn't it great to know that when you get to the crisis point in life everything we beleive, have stood for and agonized over is true. He really is there for us in the dark moments, really does walk with us in the shadowlands, really does hold our hand. Feels like faith until now has been a practise for these moments. Both Teresa and I are so blessed - can't imagine what it must be like to walk through times like this without faith.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

God bless. D&T.

Thanks Sianaroonie

We'll give you a call when we get back and arrange a visit - can we bring the Chlosville (mad as a badger Scottish Au Pair) cos she's a horesy person?

In fact can we arrange a coach party, tent for refreshments, marching massed bands of the Household Cavalry and a minor celebrity say the one who wears the nice (though daring) frocks on dancing on ice? He..he..

Luv ya

Ravid

You, Hannah Ballantyne are fired for being too nice! Your comments made us cry (in a nice way!). You do a brill job at Kempston, we really couldn't have lauched and ran that centre without you keeping us all organised. Glad you like the blog - writing it is really theraputic and helps keep the demons at bay. Thanks to all our Kip McGrath staff who have been brill and so supportive.

Luv D&T

Hey Dave & Teresa - it's The Baxter's here!
Got your Blog address from Phil Squires.
We were devasted to hear of your dignosis yet feel full of faith for you that God will heal you. As I (mark) was praying for you the other day was reminded of Psalm 121 vs 1 in particular - "I lift my eyes up to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord the Maker of heaven and earth"..what an amazing promise - it's great to read that this is your experience right now. Can't imagine the emotions you are both feeling but our prayer is that "your help comes from the Lord". We are praying for you mate, you are all much in our thoughts and if you fancy coming to the best beaches in the UK let us know and we will put the kettle on!
