Florence's bit

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to add a couple of things to Dave's blog yesterday. It was really fab news -the doctor said that the pain in his chest that Dave had been getting is nothing to worry about it - in fact it turns out it is a 'spasm' which occurs because the oesophagus had not been working properly for a while and now is and is complaining due to lack of exercise - so is in fact good news! The tiredness is because the silly plonker insists on playing football with the kids when he should be sitting quietly with a book! (duh...!)

There was absolutely no evidence of any spread and the radiotherapy (which he said they rarely offered) is going to be given in a very powerful dose which they hope will kill much of the cancer cells (although as Dave said can't kill it completely). The fact that the tumour has responded so well and that they are able to consolidate that by attacking it even more potently is amazing - 'very unusual' as the doctor put it so we can truly see God's hand in this and will buy us so much more precious time even though it will be a pretty rough few weeks for Dave having both chemo and radiotherapy at the same time....but its still fanatastic to be given the opportunity to have the treatment.

I must confess that for the first time since we had the news I woke up this morning and felt that much of the darkness that I have been walking with for the past few months had been lifted and I could so clearly see God's grace and mercy in those results - so thankyou so much for all your gracious thoughts and prayers - I know we've still got a long way to go but for now the sense of relief is just wonderful!

thanks again guys for all the support you give to us and especially to my incredible hubbie - you're all such a blessing to us!

Teresa (aka Florence)xxx

Unusual indeed !!!!!!
Gods work OF COURSE!
Great news...knew it was going to be.
We get even closer to the words we yearn for....no trace.
It will be tough, but remember you are in Gods rucksack..so stock up on books, and be no longer a plonker, but a rester.
Sorry missed Refresh...some plonker (not you Dove) reversed into the side of me at the petrol station, so suffering whiplash, and a touch of the hormonals.
The adventures me and my Volvo get up to. I should have left it in the field, it was safer there!
Got a courtesy car today..it is like a little sewing machine on wheels.
I will have to "pop" over to see you in it...if I leave now.....
Anyway, once again, God will be Praised, and Bombarded on an hourly basis, for you both.
Your are doing an amazing job, Florence, looking after this guy of yours.Remember to take time to rest yourself, too.
rnbej...not too bad, for a change.
Redfern .....
Now

Jubilation
LOL and cyber hugs,

Glad to hear the report was a step in the right direction.
I guess you will lose some bounce with the next onslaught - definitely need to rest.
Anyway, if we can help out with the odd lift to Cambridge, please let us know. It would have to be a Monday or Friday but we know the way - been a few times.
Bother we missed Refresh AGAIN!!
Hope to be at the next prayer meeting - it's in the diary (I just need to remember to look at it).
bye for now,
Love,
Jean

Was fabaroonee to see you on Monday Your attitude and humour is truly evidence of Gods Amazing Grace. It was great to unpack some contraversial conversations and I really look forward to reading your dissertation. I get the feeling there will be lots more similar conversations to follow. GO GO Dave Your blog is inspirational. Look forward to a chat and some wine in the hot tub.I pray you will feel well during the next lot of chemo.
Loads of love
