Hi Guys
Sorry I didn’t post over the weekend – I’ve been asleep! I have never slept so much in my life. Normally I'm a 5 hour a night man. Over the weekend I've been managing as much as 18 hours out of 24! Must be doing me some good.
I started to feel better yesterday; I suppose the intravenous stuff is beginning to work its way through my system. I was able to preach at Church yesterday morning - this was fantastic as its one of my favorite things in the whole world. I can’t tell you how much we appreciate our Church. What a brilliant bunch of people. The worship yesterday morning lifted the rafters, the singing would have made Charles Wesley proud!
My appetite has come back and I’ve even managed to put some weight on up to 12 stone 3. Since the summer hols I’ve lost 2 ½ stone, the first stone intentionally the next stone and half without any effort – this was one of the things that sent me to the doctors in the first place. For the 72 hours after the chemo you really don’t feel like eating anything and the thought of wine – argh!
My fingers and mouth are still as sensitive to the cold. The mouth is strange, it’s like the sparkle dust I had as a kid. The stuff that crackled in your mouth as you ate it….remember? Anyhows I take the last of my chemo tablets today. Nothing now again until the next cycle begins on Wednesday 20th.
I’m working on my master’s dissertation for Cliff College this week. I have to finish it by 31st March. I hope I can concentrate! I really want to graduate June 28th.
Hope you guys all had good days. God bless. Dave.

Welcome back Dovid!
Glad you are feeling better.
There is nothing wrong with sleeping 18 hours out of 24, as my teenage son Adam will tell you!He phoned yesterday from Dundee Uni....at 3.30pm..he was just going to get his BREAKFAST! So you see, you are not showing signs of age after all, you are up there with the young 'uns.
We will concentrate prayer this week for you to be able to complete your course work, as well as nagging God into total healing, cos we know He can.
Jacob our youngest son sends his love too....he thinks you are wonderful and "cool". We all agree with that one!
LOL to you and your nearest and dearest,
Sian P>S I have to check my spolling carefully, as I know you are just waiting for one slip up!
Hi dave ....i remember the sparkle dust stuff, crackled and popped and was great to buy just a couple of times then you realised the capitalists had even infiltrated kids sweets and there was no substance...just cost! Good to catch up with you by phone last week, looking forward to seeing you guys in a couple of weeks....gutted that you're off the wine, i remember that it was you guys that introduced a couple of lilly livered stamps to the toxic vine about 20 years ago...remember that bloody awful thunderbird we used to drink at autumn grove...rocket fuel with the finese of farmers red diesel.
We read amylous blog and fell apart, so special and full of faith. Our Josh said the other night: if anyone can beat this it's dave - he's so into it and a great guy".....i think in his words he was expressing the sentiment that if there's any justice in this world you should be at the front of the healing Q..
I did a gig in eastwood this weekend in aid of the burkina faso charity - jeff jones and john minkley send their thoughts and prayers. ive just spoken to steve hinsley who says hi and he's gonna get intouch with steve and wendy if you havent already, also have emailed dave shore and baz gascoyne etc.
when are you off to france is it next week? give me a call before you go. Are you picking up emails- ive got a great video to email you about man flu....tez will love it..
hope the week goes ok and you feel stronger.

Hi David just to let you know your old neighbours from childhood in The Croft are thinking and praying for you. We are glad the first big dose of chemo is behind you and hopefully you will feel better again soon. We are all routing for you and sincerely hope "you will beat this blighter" with the support of all your friends, family and faith.
Much love Lynda and Ralph
Hi Dave,
Just to let you know we are thinking of you.
I hope I have managed to sign in Ok - it didn't like it first time!!
You didn't miss much at the weekend - no snow!!!
I remember that fizzy stuff but not the name of it. Still doesn't ring any bells but I do recall the experience!
Not sure about the study. I think I would be glad of any excuse NOT to do any!
Sorry neither of us made it to Power Praise this month - seems ages since the last one.
Hope to see you soon.
I remember the sparkle dust stuff as well. You are so good at describing the effects of treatment and your condition. I can almost imagine how you are feeling. It is hard to read you blog without a tear coming from my eye though. I only knew you a short while but know you to be a good person. The more I read your blog the more admiration I have for you. I am so glad you are still managing the things you love doing. You have some wonderful caring people supporting you.
The prayers continue ...
I hope Buddhist prayers will count for something ...
Lots of love
Dee
